The 3D Lab Association was established in 2014 to support 3D ArcheoLab, a project that aims to expand the pool of museum users by improving the accessibility of museum collections through low-cost technological solutions that are modern and innovative.
To date the association has nearly one hundred members from all over Italy, who share a passion for technology as well as the desire to make a concrete contribution to enhancing our immense cultural heritage.
For over a year, 3DLab involved in the development of the 3D Virtual Museum, a web portal to share 3D models of our cultural heritage.
Finally, the association is constantly involved in training activities with workshops focused on technologies of 3D survey and printing and, more generally, on digital fabrication techniques for Cultural Heritage.

ACTIVITIES
The project Tech@Museum of 3D Lab, by way of a highly technological and innovative approach, aims to increase the accessibility of our archaeological heritage, thus allowing more people to study and enjoy it.
The project will initially be developed in the two participating museums: the National Etruscan Museum of Marzabotto and the National Archaeological Museum of Ferrara.
An online 3D museum will be created consisting of three-dimensional digital models, at high resolution, of a selection of archaeological artefacts belonging to each museum.
This solution aims to bring together, in a single virtual space, objects that are stored in different places and are far apart from each other, allowing to reconstruct fragmented collections belonging to the same territory or same archaeological site.

The 3D Museum will be accessible online free of charge by using a standard browser, or by downloading the dedicated App via smartphone with a fee.
