Checkpoint Charly is a shared artistic workshop, born within the walls of a former, regenerated warehouse. Inside there is a heterogeneous group made up of more than 30 artists and artisans (painters, illustrators, cartoonists, engravers, printers, photographers, sculptors), united by the need for spaces to research, express themselves and participate. Checkpoint Charly is a place of work and production, meeting, training and sharing of knowledge, collective projects and new ideas to experience art, where everyone can cultivate their personal research in a stimulating environment. Charly is a project where the city and its inhabitants can meet the research and expression of the creative personalities who inhabit it, experiencing relationships with a high degree of understanding and usability.
ACTIVITIES
Inside the two warehouses of via Rosaspina in Bologna you can find ateliers, workstations for cartoonists, illustrators and animators, silk-screen printing workshops, chalcography, carpentry and ceramics, an exhibition space and a self-built courtyard. Checkpoint Charly is above all a widespread collective of artists and artisans that offers, also in collaboration with other associations and bodies of the city, participated art workshops, experimental press, educational workshops and curating of exhibitions and temporary installations.
