Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini (Giacomo Brodolini Foundation - FGB) - is a private non-profit foundation engaged in the definition, application, evaluation and dissemination of policies at all levels of government.

FGB promotes social dialogue and exchange of knowledge between the academic community, policy makers, institutions, civil society and the private sector. The Foundation supports local, urban and rural development by designing and managing social innovation, incubators and business accelerators and incubation paths for start-ups. In Emilia Romagna, FGB coordinates five of the ten Open Laboratories of the Region together with a network of partner cities: Modena, Ferrara, Ravenna, Forlì and Piacenza. The operation is part of the urban development strategy of the Emilia Romagna region.

ACTIVITIES
The Open Laboratories focus on the meeting between citizens, businesses, students, public administration, the world of research and the third sector for the creation of new products, services and opportunities. They are spaces in which themes such as sustainable mobility or cultural and creative enterprises intertwine with technological innovation and participation. These are physical and ‘idea’ connections between listening and involvement, which allow dialogue between different worlds and skills. The Laboratories act in a synergy to bring about a tangible change in innovation on the whole regional territory: they are training centres, co-working and business creation spaces, places of aggregation and experimentation in the field of digital innovation.
