Metronom is an art gallery and publishing house based in Modena, Italy, which promotes projects related to contemporary visual culture through solo and group exhibitions of Italian and international artists, limited editions of artist books and publications and the online magazine generazionecritica.it.
SPECIAL PROJECT 2020
Metronom’s innovation project is YOUR OWN WALL – THE APP, an app creating new opportunities for interaction between artists, collectors and galleries, born in the context of the YOUR OWN WALL project.
The aim is to guarantee the enjoyment and dissemination of art and to potentially extend the ways these can be achieved, seeking to turn a limitation, namely the physical distance between artists, works and users that the world of art and culture is experiencing, into a potential.
YOUR OWN WALL connects artists, collectors but also galleries and exhibition spaces through dedicated profiles and thematic selections. The app offers artists the opportunity to make selected works available for a limited period of time, thus guaranteeing the circulation of the works and the possibility to see them ‘in person’; browsing through the proposals also by geographical proximity, collectors can decide to temporarily house a work in their own spaces, thus providing an exclusive way of interacting with the artistic object.
The selection of works and artists is guaranteed by the experience of the Metronom team, which is committed to offering reading suggestions, insights and comparisons between works and artists, thus providing a research and dissemination work being accessible from the app, which may be downloaded free of charge.
