Panem Et Circenses is an artistic collective founded by Ludovico Pensato and Alessandra Ivul. The research topic of the team is represented by human relation investigations through the “food culture” seen as a cultural “product”, built following the rules in a general economy of our relationship with reality: the others, the nature and the stories coming from the past.
Since 2015 we run the Center for Contemporary Art on Food Culture (CACCA); a space dedicated to research and experimentation open to artists.
Since 2017 we manage a farm aimed at spreading the contemporary art and natural agriculture, by offering the possibility to be part of reconnection with the nature through food production and earth care.
ACTIVITIES
We develop relational and participatory art projects that means: without active participation of people, the artwork does not exists.
We design and create participatory artwork, site-specific installations and performances; we provide specialist consultancy and organize artistic workshops.
We offer advices, training and adults teaching, regarding the relation between art and food through workshops, seminars and academic courses.
We organize outdoor/indoor activities inside our farm, we welcome, provide hospitality and offer opportunities for artistic residences.
