Cantieri Meticci is a collective of artists from more than 20 countries around the world who have been running workshops in Bologna for years, mixing different arts and people. Everything stems from the conviction that in order to create something really new, you need to look for it and cultivate it where no one has ever looked before: suburban neighbourhoods, schools, shelters, small libraries, parishes... The aim is to meet the other and to mix: people are sometimes reluctant, sometimes annoyed, but more and more often they want to tell a story, and to engage into a project that (for once) puts them at the centre.
SPECIAL PROJECT 2020
With the project Lo spettatore del futuro [The Spectator of the Future], Cantieri Meticci is experimenting with techniques for constructing participatory dramaturgies and micro-scenographies, composed from a distance together with dozens of citizens, exploring the different potentialities of the Zoom platform. The stories created collectively are filmed by means of 360° cameras: with the collaboration of Visual Lab they are developing a technology that makes it possible to transform public places into "theatres" in which to tell stories and experiences from the most diverse points of view. Finally, by scanning QR codes placed in the same places where the filming took place, the viewer of the future will find himself immersed in the filmed scenes using his smartphone, actively exploring the situation around him, putting together his own virtual show, and enriching the location with his own stories.
